♥ updates on cell shirt

(previous post and this are both posted by me shereen; so you can see i'm superbly free and bored)

we'll let eleena decide on whether should the shirt be black or white alright?
'cause she's the RL of our cell so she make the final decision :)
joshua will be in charge of ordering the shirt as he said he'll go back to his supplier again.
and in addition, i guess i would like to add on to the design of our shirt.
we'll add in "Preteens Ministry" somewhere on our shirt ok?
maybe at the sleeve or at some corner of the shirt,
and joshua added that we should put our cell's blog website with it too.
anyone who has any suggestions can bring it up too.
then we'll get this done as soon as possible :)

♥ Cell shirt

Hello everyone, shereen here :)

okay anyway, i have come up with a design for our cell shirt, which i will show you guys below.
if you think it's good then we'll go with it,
if you have any suggestions we can improve on it,
but if you have any objections then we'll do up another one.

alright, for the front design, it would be like that:

yeah, everyone of our names are there, and obviously, it's BigKids :)
however, if we want a black shirt,
then it would probably look like that:

and for the back of the shirt,
i would suggest something special.
we put our names behind our own shirt,
and below our names, we will each think of a bible verse that defines ourselves or a verse that we love, and state it under our names.

♥ GI CC Updates - 23rd - 29th Mar 2009‏

Dear all,

I discovered that I have accidentally missed out some names so I am resending this mail. Recently the TV is flashing the flu-bug advertisement every other hour, so beware of the bug and take care that you don’t get bitten by the flu-bug. Already I know two persons who are sick because of the flu epidemic that is going on. I am not feeling well last two, three days also and I think it has to do with the bug as well. Remember to rest well and drink lots of water…

Personal Sharing:
Last few days I was reading Aristotle’s On Sleep and Waking which deals with the topic of sleep. It was interesting that he ended the treatise with this statement, “swvzei gar h; ajnavpausi~” which means “For rest saves (or heals)”. Interestingly, the word used in Genesis 2:3 “He (God) rested from all His work which God had created and made” for ‘rested’ is katapauvw, a synonym of ajnavpauw/ ajnavpausi~ (to cause to rest / rest). God sets the seventh day apart for men so that we can rest and re-create ourselves. This is how important rest is to each one of us. Aristotle emphasized on the effect of rest in his writing, but it is God in all His wisdom who knows that we, human beings, need to have rest so that we will not be exhausted and fall ill. We must have time for recreation in our week, so that we will be re-created. An article in Reader’s Digest March 2009 (Pg. 37) issue has this to say about sleep: teens having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep have the tendency to have blood pressure 4 points higher than teens who slept well. Those who slept less than 6.5 hours a night were 2.5 times more likely than those who slept longer to have elevated blood pressure. Can you imagine if this is what it will do to teens, what greater damage it will do to us, the recycled-teens? So, please take time to rest and go for your own recreation, and also to sleep.

Pray for our teachers and pastors that we will have strong body with good immunity. Pray for the new Church Board that they will be sensitive to God’s guidance and wisdom to make wise decision for the church.

I will give thanks to the Lord according to His righteousness and will sing praise to His name.

hello all! firstly, can we leave our names in our blog entries so that i know who posted that entry? cause sometimes it confuses me and i don't know if it's posted by eleena or shereen. thanks. next, i'm back from my cca expedition and since i have time, i decided to post a short blog entry here! =)

now that half of my march holidays are gone which is wisely spent, i'm going to spend the rest of my time doing uncompleted work. about the t-shirt design, i agree that we should do it together. i think it will be easier to brainstorm on ideas and then perhaps get someone/a few of us to do the design. hopefully, we can get a nice cool t-shirt design as soon as possible!

yup, so i'll be looking forward to seeing all of you soon and not forgetting our first cell lunch after combined service this sun! =)

because for all i know producing the order needs some time too.

♥ GI CC Updates - 16th - 22nd Mar 2009‏

Dear all,
Great to find myself alive again this morning … another day, another opportunity to serve the Lord. Isn’t it great to be able to serve the Lord each day of our lives knowing that He is always there to help us and assist us when we face challenges that are too big for us? Encourage you to be like David to trust in the Lord to face the Goliaths that come your way.

Personal Sharing:

I was at the Zoo yesterday morning. I went with some people and they commented that the place is unlike the Malaysian zoo which smells. Our Zoo does not smell of animal waste…but over there you can smell it even at the entrance. The animals and the enclosures are all well kept and clean. The animals look good and healthy to the visitors. The Zoo, I think, works very hard to present the pretty side to the visitors. All the ugly side is dealt with in the secret places, out of the sight of the visitors. The Zoo can look beautiful only if the Zoo keepers have taken care of the animals in the ‘secret chambers’.

This gives me the thought of how important it is to have our daily devotions. Devotions are like the ‘secret chamber’ in the Zoo where the animals are cleaned and getting ready for the day to meet the multitudes of visitors in their best. If we are to spend time with God before we begin the day, I believe we will be more ready to face the day. The Psalmist wrote, “But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; yes, I shall joyfully sing of your lovingkindness in the morning, for You have been my stronghold and refuge in the day of my distress. (59:16)” If we remind ourselves of God’s lovingkindness and His strength available to us, I think we can face the day better. I encourage you to go before God daily before you step out of your house for work or study. Let us get our ‘animals’ ready to face the world: (1) Meditate on God’s goodness, lovingkindness, and strength (Eph 1:19) for the day, (2) deal with any negative emotions or thoughts you have or anticipate you will have for the day, (3) pray for the people you will be working with that day, and (4) pray for God to help you handle the stress and challenges for the day. Before you enter the office, take a deep breathe, and smile, then step into the office and decide to be joyful in the Lord no matter what happen. Try it and let me know if it helps.

i would like to let all of you know the meaning with regard to the birth of our blog.
as you can see, our url is "bkid-me-not".
in case any of you are wondering what on earth is that, let me enlighten.
since we're BigKids, so the BKID is there.
actually it was supposed to be kid-me-not,
meaning that we are not a kid but yet a big kid(so the contrast is there, see?)
and therefore added a 'b' infront of 'kid'. TADA :D
but of course, if anyone has better suggestions we can change it too!
no problem with that :)

and also, you can see that this page is colourful in a way...
i used different colours for each and every column to add colours to this blog!
(although im someone who prefers devoid haha!)
so yes...that's that.
if anyone of you wants the font to be changed just let me know too!
